For Students Interested in Studying Japanese while Taking Other Academic Classes

Japanese classes are also available for study abroad students who are additionally taking classes in other departments. During both spring semester (April to late July) and fall semester (mid-September to early February), students can take between two to six classes per week (90 minute classes).

Students will take a language proficiency test after arriving in Japan, and the results of this test, together with consultations with Japanese instructors, will be used to determine class placement.
