Research Collaboration

Chubu University was highly ranked in the “Status of Universities' Collaboration with Enterprises in FY 2015” published by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT).

The “Status of Universities' Collaboration with Enterprises” is surveyed by MEXT every year to reflect its results in planning policies for academia-industry collaboration.

The survey in FY 2015 was conducted among 1,071 organizations, comprising 1,010 national, public and private universities (including junior colleges), 57 national, public and private technical colleges, and four inter-university research institutes.

Chubu University was ranked first among the private universities (seventh among all the organizations) in the Tokai Region in “the number of joint/contract research projects conducted in collaboration with companies and local public organizations within the same prefecture (by region).”

With regard to the amount of funds received for joint research projects with foreign companies, Chubu University was ranked third among the private universities (17th among all the organizations) throughout Japan; and with regard to the amount of funds received for contract research projects commissioned by private companies, the university was ranked 16th among the private universities (30th among all the organizations) throughout Japan.
