Ten Recipients Selected From a Pool of 126 Applicants

Senior Assistant Professor Seira Moriya (Dept. of Applied Chemistry) links another sitewas selected as a recipient of the 11th Shiseido Female Researcher Science Grant and participated in the award ceremony held on July 6th. Now in its 11th year, the grant supports the next generation of female researchers who will play a leading role in the development of scientific technology. The grant provides funds for research.

This year 10 recipients were selected from a pool of 126 applicants. Prof. Moriya’s research is focused on polymer-based composite materials, and she received the award for her research on improved performance of nylon 66 using chemically modified nanodiamond filling (giving new and superior physical properties to nylon 66 via combination with small diamonds).
